The checkpoints were used to slow down the cab and pedicab and give the host to take a direct route to be at both locations. The route was also most likely choosen to give the pedicab the advantage. However, I would still prefer to use the pedicab if given the choice.

I think that if the pedicab had passengers, wouldn’t the cab need passengers too? Just a thought… I have that same* question… HOW DID the host beat them both? maybe by taking another route? Or. Getting to the desination before hand? Wait. He was there when they started race… HOW IN THE WORLD?

I was wondering how the host beat them both too. Also, a good point about it not being quite realistic since there were no passengers in the pedicab. Pedicab still would have won though I think but just by a bit less of a margin.

Umm…what does beating the cab with no passengers prove? Try again with 300 or 400 lbs in the back of the pedicab.

Helmet for the driver, yes, passenger, no… taxi driver’s are exempt from seatbealts… pedicabs rule, day or night, rain or shine, i prefer them for local shots, better than sharing air with bus riders and train moles… but hey, I’m a NYer

If Mr. Pedicab should wear a helmet, then maybe his passengers should also wear helmets, eh? I wonder if sharing helmets among pedicab passengers is healthy for the scalp.
